Tab Commander is a Chrome extension that provides a keyboard command palette for tabs and browser actions. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what the extension stores, where it stores it, and what it sends over the network.

1. Data We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no remote logging server.

2. Data Stored Locally

The extension uses chrome.storage to save the following on your device only:

This data never leaves your machine unless you explicitly enable GitHub Sync.

3. Optional GitHub Sync

If you enable GitHub Sync, the extension uses a personal access token that you provide to read and write a single private Gist on your own GitHub account (api.github.com/gists). Only your rename rules and favicon label rules are written to the Gist.

The token is stored locally in chrome.storage and is sent only to GitHub. You can disconnect at any time from the "GitHub Sync" view, which clears the token from local storage.

4. Permissions

The extension requests only the Chrome permissions required for its features (tabstabGroupssessionsactiveTabscriptingstoragewebNavigationdownloadsclipboardWritealarms, and host access to http/https sites for applying favicon labels and rename rules). It does not read or transmit page contents.

5. Remote Code

The extension does not load or execute remote code. All scripts are bundled in the published package.

6. Children

The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.
